Conversation

Eric Wesley and Forrest Nash in Conversation

12pm, Saturday

The Academy

Los Angeles-based artist Eric Wesley will activate his on-site project at ALAC in a conversation with Forrest Nash. Nash’s Contemporary Art Quarterly published a deep online archive of the artist's entire practice last year. The discussion will be viewed from a distance, live and on tape, from within the closed structure of Wesley's installation, a physical iteration of the archive only exhibited at ALAC; future viewers can only enter the project via it's documentation on Contemporary Art Quarterly. Wesley and Nash will consider this new work in relation to the artist's public Quarterly archive as well as Wesley's other projects past, present and future.

Bidding online and in advance will take place online via Paddle8 beginning February 5.

RHMF is a nonprofit organization based in New York City that provides direct support both to cancer patients needing financial help to connect to family and loved ones, and to visual artists at a critical juncture in their careers. The Foundation was created in September 1995 by friends and family of Rema Hort Mann, to honor her joyful and vivacious life after her untimely death from stomach cancer. RHMF carries forward Rema’s passion and strength by providing three distinct, bicoastal grant programs.

RHMF has evolved into a dynamic and effective organization, acting as a bedrock of support for individuals suffering from cancer and an advocate for emerging artists. By combining these two missions, RHMF commemorates Rema’s life by upholding the values closest to her heart.

Ticket prices are $50 in advance of the event and $60 at the door. Purchase here.
